History in
a Pecan Shell
Originally known
as Blossom Hill, Chapman was renamed to honor the family of
pioneer John Chapman. A member of the Chapman Family fought at the
battle
of San Jacinto.
The town had a post office from 1894 to 1904. The community had 12
people in 1895 which increased slowly to 150 just prior to WWII. |
